Project Overview
Solvd were asked to produce a windows application and database for a Charity organisation which stores a large number of records of names and addresses of people across the world and associated memberships. The project involved migrating data from a Symantec ACT! database, which was rapidly ageing and proving very high maintenance. Solvd designed a Microsoft SQL Server database & produced a desktop application for Microsoft Windows that would interface with Microsoft Office, allowing templates to be produced in Microsoft Word, resulting in a familiar interface for the end users.
Day to day operation
The application enables them to quickly enter, search and track information on all people on the database. The application provides a number of facilities in particular a facility to do large mail merges, label printing and bulk emailing.
There is also an advanced search facility so that users can narrow down particular types of people that they wish to send or email information to.
Solvd also provided the organisation with a reporting facility so that they quickly produce statistical reports and different lists of people associated with memberships and group types.
Solvd continues to support this system which has been running successfully since 2010.
