Solvd produced a Tablet application tool for an NHS Regional Department for Community Stroke Reviewers. This was initially a large paper based questionnaire that NHS Clinicians used to assess and monitor stroke victims. The design of the tool for had to be easy to use so non-computer users would be able to quickly enter patient details and responses to a large number of questions. This provided the clinician with a quicker and easier way of entering the data and uploading it to database created by Solvd to hold details of all patients and reviews completed.

Due to the sensitive nature all patient identifiable data (e.g. NHS number, name, address, telephone number etc) is stored and transmitted in an encrypted form using a NHS Information Governance (IG) approved algorithm such as AES256.

Along with the tool, Solvd produced a secure website where all clinicians could log in and add patient data, upload reviews and be able to print out a PDF document containing all the information about each review.

Solvd were able to provide them the facility to produce graphical and statistical reports on the data to ascertain reviews completed and key patient demographics.

Feedback from the Project Management Team

“The team are knowledgeable in the IT field and have shown the ability to transfer these skills effectively to healthcare. All members of the team have been reliable and provided an efficient service resulting in the development of a cleverly designed electronic tool which resembles the original paper version. The application is stroke specific and patient centred with the added benefits of seamless communication, centralised storage, pre-populated data, data collection and reporting. With the support of Solvd Ltd the CSR tool has the ability to revolutionise the stroke review process in South Central because of an innovative user-friendly application which also allows clinicians and their organisations access to valuable data for reporting and auditing purposes. The project now has the possibility of being taken up by other regions, maybe even nationally.”
